Australian Outback Camping - Flinders Ranges National Park - Trezona Campground
Trezona Campground is beautiful and serene. On the banks of a dry river bed (at least it was when we were there) under huge gum trees.
There was hardly anyone here when we camped and we were able to hang up our solar shower off a fallen tree in the dry river bed and have a lovely warm shower. Perfect end to the day...until the incident!
We ended up leaving our campsite looking like some kind of sacrifice had taken place on the big stone block that we used as a table. I managed to cut my finger open really badly, whilst chopping an onion (must have been the tears obstructing my vision) and left a trail of blood over the table as well as pretty much everywhere else. Yet we still loved camping here :o)
Outback Australia - driving in the Flinders Ranges National Park
The drive back to Wilpena along Brachina Gorge Road and the Yanyanna Track is really stunning. There are a few quite rocky patches, but it is fine to do it in a 2wd, if it is dry.
The mountains rise up around you like the spine of a sleeping dinosaur. The yellow and orange stripes glowing in the sunlight.
$12 per campsite (plus $9 Park entrance fee)
