WHAT MAKES IT REAL?

WILD AND FREE...

Australian Outback - free camping near Kings Canyon

This is the nearest free camping ground /rest area to Kings Canyon. It’s about 1.5 hours drive, which saved us a night of expensive camping. Both Kings Canyon Resort and Kings Creek Station are expensive (about $15 per person).

This free camping area stretches quite a long way back from the road and has plenty of trees for shade. There is also a covered picnic table.

Outback Australia - Kings Canyon

Our advice would be to get up early, drive to Kings Canyon, and have breakfast in the car park (or take it on your walk with you). It's a special place...the earlier you walk the more likely you will have it to yourself, at least for a while.
