Camping in Montana - Gardiner (near Yellowstone National Park)
Montana Camping - rv camping sites in Gardiner...view of Mammoth Hot Springs
This Montana camping ground is owned by the US Forest Service, and is a beautiful spot with a creek running through it, in the Gallatin National Forest, in the Rocky Mountains.
The views here are lovely - really rugged Montana landscape (although you are nearly in Wyoming), very dramatic in the Fall when we saw storms rolling in over the Rockies. You can even see Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park.
We found Eagle Creek Camp Ground to be an ideal stop over before entering Yellowstone National Park, from the north entrance, as it is only a couple of miles away. We got up early, stocked up on food supplies and petrol at Gardiner and then headed on in to the park.

We heard wolves in the morning in the surrounding hills of the camp ground.
Note: Although the last 1.5 miles of the access road (Jardine Road) to the camp ground is dirt. It is really compacted and was absolutely fine to drive on, in the rain, in a medium sized rv.
$7 for 1 vehicle and up to 8 people (50% off with a Golden Age/Golden Access seniors card) $3 for additional vehicle.
