WHAT MAKES IT REAL?

LOCATION...

Oregon coast camping - Washburne beach

Where the Pacific Ocean meets Oregon is a wild windswept rock strewn coastline, making beach camping in Oregon a particularly fabulous camping experience.

This Oregon camping ground is almost on the beach (on the other side of highway 101) - you can actually hear the ocean crashing on the shore...what a way to fall asleep.

There is a lovely walking trail from the camp ground, through moss floored wood and under the highway, to the 2 mile long beautiful Washburne beach (takes 10 minutes).

Oregon coast camping - Suislaw National Forest

There is also a hiking trail from the camp ground that runs in the other direction to two lagoons for nature watching. If you have the time you can make a loop out of the two trails using the beach as a link - lovely.

This Oregon camping ground is in the Suislaw National Forest and so is surrounded by trees, and each campsite is also separated from the next by trees, making it feel secluded.

A creek runs through the camp ground and some of the campsites actually back on to it.

The facilities are clean and modern. The showers are so wonderfully hot - we hadn’t had one for a week before we arrived here!!

Oh and the manager has a really lovely dog.
